Lip filler consultations tend to move faster than people expect, which can mean important questions go unasked simply because there wasn't a clear moment to raise them. A little preparation makes the conversation more useful.

Bring reference language, not just reference photos

Photos help, but the same photo can mean different things to different providers — "fuller" could mean more volume throughout, more definition at the border, or a different overall shape. Try to articulate specifically what you like about a reference: is it the cupid's bow definition, the overall volume, the ratio between the top and bottom lip?

Understand the difference between volume and shape

Some filler techniques focus on adding overall volume. Others focus on refining shape and symmetry with comparatively little added volume. If your primary concern is asymmetry rather than size, say so directly — a provider defaulting to a standard volume-focused approach might not address what's actually bothering you.
